Privacy Policy
Postcurve gives you analytics about your own X account. It's built so that your data stays with you: it lives in your browser, and we never receive it. Postcurve is not affiliated with or endorsed by X Corp.
What Postcurve reads
Before you turn it on, Postcurve notes only which X account is signed in, so the popup can offer to turn analytics on for that account. It keeps this in the browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the browser.
Once you enable analytics for your account in the extension's popup, Postcurve reads these things from the X pages you visit, for that account only:
- Your own posts: each post's ID, link, text, publish time, and the counts X shows on it (views, likes, replies, reposts, bookmarks), plus whether it has photos, video, links, hashtags, mentions or a quote.
- Where you saw them: whether a post appeared on your profile's Posts tab, which X shows without replies. This is how Postcurve tells your original posts from possible replies.
- Your own profile: your follower and following counts and your display name, when you visit your profile.
Other people's posts appear on the same pages. Postcurve looks at them only to recognize which posts are yours, and doesn't store anything from them. It doesn't read your messages, passwords, cookies or login tokens, and it doesn't record which pages you visit.
Files you import
You can choose to import an X data archive or an X analytics export (CSV). These files are opened and read entirely in your browser.
- From an archive, Postcurve uses only your posts and your account's ID, handle and display name. It never reads the email address the archive contains.
- From an analytics export, it uses the per-post numbers.
Where your data is stored
Everything is stored locally in your browser, on your device: your history in the extension's IndexedDB database, and your settings, plus a copy of the dashboard's latest Overview so it opens quickly, in the browser's extension storage. Deleting your data removes both. It is kept in your browser profile, protected by your device's user account like the rest of your browser data.
- No server. Postcurve has no server and no account system.
- No network requests of its own. It sends no data to us or to anyone else.
- No tracking. There are no analytics, trackers or ads in the extension.
Sharing
Nothing is shared unless you do it:
- Share cards are drawn in your browser.
- Your choices. You can download the image, copy it, or click "Share to X". Share to X opens X's post composer with suggested text and attaches the image there.
- You post. You decide whether to post. Postcurve never posts, likes, follows or changes anything on your account.
How your data is used
Postcurve uses this data only to show you analytics about your own account: charts, comparisons, reports and the share cards you choose to make. It is not sold, not shared with anyone, and not used for any other purpose, including advertising or determining creditworthiness.
Postcurve's use of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Notifications
Notifications are off until you turn them on in Settings, which asks for your browser's permission. They are created on your device from your local data.
Your choices
- Pause collection anytime from the popup or Settings.
- Export all your data as CSV or JSON from Settings.
- Delete all your data with Settings → Delete all data. Removing the extension also removes its data.
Children
Postcurve is not directed at children under the minimum age required to use X.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. If a future version offers optional cloud features, they will be off by default, explained before you turn them on, and covered by an updated policy.
